It’s Time for Budget Cuts’ Official Launch Trailer

There’s only a few days to go until Neat Corporation releases its long awaited debut title Budget Cuts for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. As all developers like to do, the studio has now released a launch trailer to showcase whats instore.

After demoing the latest version of Budget Cuts at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2018, giving a release date of 16 May, the studio then delayed the launch to add further polish and improvements to the highly anticipated stealth experience.

Designed to fully utilise the roomscale technology of HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, Budget Cuts is set in a world full of robots. You play an employee at mega conglomerate TransCorp who finds out their job is in danger. After a mysterious package arrives you must then head out and save your job. In this stylish experience you do this by sneaking about using a special teleportation gun which can fire you through windows, down corridors and even through vents. While the main task is to remain unseen, using these smaller spaces which you’ll have to actually duck down and squeeze through to remain hidden, you’ll also have to be prepared to fight in Budget Cuts, using whatever knives, scissors or other weaponry that are close to hand.

As the launch trailer showcases, Budget Cuts is a tongue-in-cheek style videogame with a very clean, futuristic art style were no humans are present. You’ll be able to answer phones to get clues on your mission, find useful items, and above all carefully navigate the robot filled hallways without dying.

Neat Corporation has said that Budget Cuts will run to around 7-8 hours of gameplay. It’ll launch this Thursday, 31st May for both headsets via Steam. A demo has been available for a while if you’ve not tried it yet, and for further updates to Budget Cuts, keep reading VRFocus.
