Summer Lesson debuted in eastern territories last year, garnering a great deal of attention as being a high-profile dating simulator of sorts. The second retail release in the series, Summer Lesson: Allison Snow & Chisato Shinjo, does not yet have a specified release date; however it has been confirmed that this second physical package for the PlayStation VR exclusive series will follow the first in including English language subtitles.
Summer Lesson: Hikari Miyamoto, the debut title in the series, launched last year with both standalone and PlayStation VR bundle retail packages made available in addition to the digital release via PlayStation Store. Piquing the interest of English-speaking importers, the Southeast Asia version of Summer Lesson: Hikari Miyamoto shipped with English language subtitles included on the disc. Now, it appears that Summer Lesson: Allison Snow & Chisato Shinjo will follow suit.
The second release in the series, Summer Lesson: Allison Snow & Chisato Shinjo brings two new characters to the player’s student list. Allison Snow has featured in a number of different trailers for the videogame and even early playable builds. An American student looking to learn Japanese during a summer break, the player will meet with the musically talented Allison at a beach hut. Less is currently known about the other new addition, Chisato Shinjo. She is the daughter of a distinguished family and considered a pampered young princess; quite a different character to Allison.
Although it may be an acquired taste, the original Summer Lesson gained interest outside the typical dating simulation audience due to the high level of human interaction offered by the immersive medium of virtual reality (VR). Whether this second instalment will garner as much interest when it launches remains to be seen, however the title can now be pre-ordered from popular international import website Play Asia.
As with the original title, no western release is currently expected for Summer Lesson: Allison Snow & Chisato Shinjo, despite Bandai Namco Games’ interest in VR as seen with the forthcoming Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on the Summer Lesson franchise and other VR titles from Bandai Namco Games.
