Oculus’ Connect developer conference is always one of the highlights of the year for the VR industry, and new sessions added this week for the 2017 iteration suggest it’ll be no different.
We’ve already reported that Oculus Connect 4 will feature some in-depth sessions like a post mortem on Ready at Dawn’s Lone Echo and a look at the latest Oculus Rift SDK, but today the company added a handful of new sessions that look just as intriguing. One that caught our eye was ‘Better with Friends: The First Year in Facebook Spaces’ in which Social VR Product Manager Mike Booth will look back on the first six months of Spaces’ release and talk about the vision for its future.
Fans of last month’s Killing Floor: Incursion will also want to check out ‘From Killing Floor to Shattered Ceiling: Leveraging Established IP to Break Into VR’, in which developer Tripwire Interactive will be joined by Oculus Head of Developer Strategy Chris Jurney to talk about the learning curve for VR developer.
Other talks include a look at getting the most out of mobile VR performance and multiplatform development with React VR. Baobab Studios CEO Maureen Fan will also take part in a fireside chat about the state of VR. Oculus will also host Regionals for the VR Challenger League at the show, where players will go head-to-head in Echo Arena.
Oculus Connect 4 takes place from October 11th – 12th at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. We’re expecting a full keynote session in which Oculus will reveal the latest on its work in VR and more. We’ll of course be there to bring you all the updates. Applications to attend the show at open until September 11th and Early Bird discounts are applicable until the 8th.
