Apex Construct’s North American Retail Launch Delayed

After Fast Travel Games’ successful launch of futuristic bow title Apex Construct earlier this year the studio then set its sights on a physical retail release for the PlayStation VR version with help from Perp Games. That went ahead as planned for European customers in June with North American gamers originally having to wait until the end of July. That didn’t happen, with Fast Travel Games confirming a delay until the end of August 2018.

Apex Construct

VRFocus has heavily covered Apex Construct ever since Fast Travel Games first announced the title back in October 2017. The very first virtual reality (VR) videogame from a studio which formed in 2016 by ex-Rovio, EA, and DICE staff, Apex Construct is a surreal, almost alien world that’s filled with remnants of mankind yet no one remains. Instead the world is filled with hostile robots that will attack players on sight.

Players find themselves trapped in a war between two AI’s, being the last surviving human they must stay alive by any means necessary, which means mastering the only weapon in the videogame, a bow. Of course this is no ordinary bow and arrow combination as it not only features multiple arrow combinations for various scenarios but there’s also a handy shield built-in as well.

To find out what VRFocus though of the title, read our five-star review which said: “Despite some minor gripes, its clear that Apex Construct represents the way forward for VR videogames, an absorbing, intriguing experience that draws you in with a rich world complete with is own history and mysteries to be unravelled as well as a fluid combat system.”

So if you live in either the US or Canada then you got a few more weeks to wait until Apex Construct arrives on shop shelves, now dated for 28th August.

While you wait, if you happen to be a PlayStation Plus member then you can download Here They Lie for free next week, or make use of the double discount savings available this week. For further updates on Apex Construct and any further projects from Fast Travel Games keep reading VRFocus.
