Cloudhead Games said it was going to happen and next week it will, the regular monthly updates for Pistol Whip are coming to an end. The studio is set to release ‘Religion’ adding an epic new scene and gun collection as it begins its long term roadmap for Pistol Whip.
As the studio notes in a tweet, ‘Religion’ is ‘A five-and-a-half minute gauntlet’ to properly test players with an assault of bullets and music. Additionally, there’s the Baba Yaga pistol collection for those who like to have a variety of gun choices.
Of course, this isn’t the end of Cloudhead Games’ Pistol Whip updates, more will be coming in the future just less regularly. As VRFocus has previously reported a major content expansion is planned for later this year adding new scenes, modifiers and more.
One of the big additions coming this summer is PlayStation VR support. No date has been set at the moment but the studio has confirmed Pistol Whip will use one PlayStation Move controller by default.
Pistol Whip is one of the more unusual rhythm-action videogames on the market, offering intense gun gameplay to thumping music. Why that might not sound very unique, it’s a combination that has proven to be highly popular and addictive – the Virtual Athletics League (VAL) even used the title earlier this year. “Pistol Whip is huge amounts of fun even on the easiest difficulty setting, suitable for VR players no matter their skill level,” said VRFocus in its PC VR review.
As Cloudhead Games continues its support of Pistol Whip VRFocus will keep you updated.
