Last month just before Gamescom indie studio DreamSail Games announced its first virtual reality (VR) videogame, a destructive mech-based shooter called The IOTA Project. At the same time the studio also revealed plans for a demo to be released this month. Well today that’s now available on Steam.
The IOTA Project is about smashing stuff up as you pilot a giant robot armed to the teeth with an assortment of weapons. While you can raise the city just with your fists, how about adding some rockets into the equation or if you can find them, there are a few swords laying around for maximum damage.
Its not just tall skyscrapers that can fall foul of your wrath. Located throughout the streets and in the skies are an assortment of enemies with which to do battle. To aid in their annihilation the mech has several secondary weapons systems to deploy, such as a head-mounted laser, Core Blast, an artillery barrage plus Electro Blast, which sends out a shockwave to stun enemies and send objects flying.
DreamSail Games hasn’t yet confirmed a released date for The IOTA Project on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, so you’ll just have to spend your time playing the demo.
As the studio releases further details about The IOTA Project, VRFocus will keep you updated.
