Neon cyberpunk shooter Cyberdrifter has been on Steam Early Access since May 2017, gradually introducing improvements to the title. Now developers UziGames are introducing a new level and a new weapon for players to make creative use of.
Cyberdrifter is set in a Tron-inspired digital world where an AI has gone rogue and the users need to regain control from the berserk AI before too much damage is caused.
Level 4 will be introduced into Cyberdrifter on 7th September, 2017 at 6pm GMT. A new off-hand weapon will be introduced as players progress into the new level. The new weapon can act like a shield to block enemy shots and return enemies fire right back at them. A reflected shot is an instant kill, and also gives the player a score multiplier.
Players will need to master the intricacies of the new weapon, since rebounded shots will be needed to break the destructible cubes blocking the path ahead. Once Level 4 is completed, the new weapon will be unlocked to be taken back into previous levels. Using the new off-hand weapon in previous levels offers lots of opportunities to rack up huge scores by snagging massive score multipliers.
The title is priced at £7.99 (GBP) on Steam and is compatible with HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Users of the Oculus Rift will need the Oculus Touch controllers in order to play. The developers are keen to get feedback from the player community on ways to improve Cyberdrifter before the title goes into full release. Further information can be found on the Steam store page.
