Oculus Introduces $299 Go for Business Bundle

Facebook’s affordable standalone VR headset, Oculus Go, is looking to finally make the platform a mainstream hit with consumers. But it appears Go forms a big part of the Oculus for Business strategy, too.

Announced late last year, Oculus for Business is a service that’s entirely focused on VR for enterprise, and sees Oculus work with companies to deliver VR experiences right for them. Previously, the service offered a Rift bundle that included the complete VR setup along with a commercial license, warranty and extra components for multiple users at $900. Now there’s a Go for Business bundle too.

For $299, which is $100 more than the 32GB Go and $50 more than the 64GB model, you’ll get a 64GB headset, commercial warranty, two facial interfaces and a multi-prong wall charger designed to fit multiple power sockets across the world. That last part is a particularly nice touch seeing as Go’s very nature allows people to carry it all over the world with little hassle.

Though Go isn’t as robust as the Rift, the simplicity and affordability of devices like smartphone-based headsets has made them popular among businesses over the past few years. No doubt Oculus now hopes many will trade their Google Cardboards in for a Go.

Right now the bundle is available to pre-order, though it’s not yet clear when it will start to ship. Currently, the bundle is scheduled to release in the US, Canada, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.
